A court has sentenced a young man named Abdul Khalek (27) to 6 years in prison for trafficking Yaba in Cox's Bazar.
Judge of Cox's Bazar Joint District and Sessions Judge (first) Judge Syed Muhammad Fakhrul Abedin gave the verdict on Wednesday (October 24th).
At the same time he was fined 6 thousand taka. Which is in default for a further 6 months in prison.
Abdul Khalek is the son of Abdul Kader of the new market area of Maheshkhali upazila.
Assistant Public Prosecutor of Cox's Bazar Joint District and Sessions Judge (first) Zia Uddin Ahmed confirmed the information.
According to the court sources, Khalek was arrested on November 7, 2015 at Teknaf 4 thousand 195 Peace Yaba. The police then filed a drug trafficking case. After the long hearing of the case today the judges judge declared the verdict.
